DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings look to go up 2-1 in their second-round series tonight when they face the top-seeded Chicago Blackhawks at Joe Louis Arena. The Red Wings evened the series at 1-all with a 4-1 victory on Saturday. Detroit rookies Brendan Smith and Gustav Nyquist, and first-year player Damien Brunner all have game-winning goals this postseason.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Jason Vargas pitched seven scoreless innings yesterday to lead the Los Angeles Angels past the Chicago White Sox 6-2. Michael Brantley homered and drove in four runs for the Indians. Mariners starter Felix Hernandez failed to go at least six innings for the first time this season.
