Amy Lange

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Amy Lange is a general assignment and investigative reporter with the FOX 2 Problem Solvers.

She joined the station in April 1998 and while here has been honored for her work by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press. Lange also has been nominated for several Emmy awards and won the 2010 Human Interest – Program Special Emmy for Helping Haiti – On a Mission – a series of reports by Lange and her husband, Fox 2 photographer Michael Shore, chronicling the aftermath of the earthquake at an orphanage in Port-au-Prince. Lange and her husband also won the 2009 Health/Science – News Feature Emmy for “Spine Story – A Reporter Breaks Her Neck,” – a report on own very personal, heartfelt account of her life-threatening injuries following a fall. She also received Emmy honors in 2005 for “Heart Gallery” in the Societal Concerns News Feature category and the Best Investigative Reporter award.

Lange came to FOX 2 from WEYI-TV in Flint, Michigan, where she worked as a reporter/anchor from 1996 until 1998. Before joining WEYI, Lange was a news promotions producer and an associate news producer at WTVJ in Miami, Florida.

Long invested in addressing the community’s societal problems both in front of and behind the camera lens, Lange volunteers for and supports a number of organizations but is most active in issues of homelessness and has served as a board member for the Homeless Action Network of Detroit (HAND). She is currently on the board of Poured Out – an organization dedicated to bringing clean drinking water to the people of Haiti.

Lange graduated cum laude with honors from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish. In 2008 she received her Master's degree in Social Justice from Marygrove College in Detroit.
