There are a variety of places that can help you get rid of things you don’t need without just throwing them out, but giving them to someone in need or recycling them. Fox 2’s Holiday Connection Guide is not only great for the holidays but year round because the needs of others don’t stop after the holiday season. From arts and crafts to vehicles there are countless places to donate or recycle the things you don't need. For anything that you want to get rid of there is someone out there who could use it. Want to donate: Women’s Business Suits
Jackets for Jobs works to help individuals who are job ready, but need the finishing touch of professional clothing and training seminars. They provide clothing to the economically disadvantaged at no charge in the metro Detroit area. The non-profit accepts suits, shirts, blouses, shoes, jewelry, scarves, purses, and unopened panty hose. Clothing should be clean and on hangers and donations are accepted Monday through Fridays from 9am to 3pm and Saturdays by appointment. For more information call or visit the website below.

The Furniture Bank of Southeastern Michigan works to help families in need by providing gently used furniture and appliances. The Furniture Bank serves over 4,000 families in Oakland and Macomb Counties every year, but the services depend on the help of the community and their donations. They accept a variety of items like full size appliances, sofas, dressers, and mattresses, but the list doesn’t end there. To find out more, their contact information is listed below.

Want to donate: Used Musical Instruments
Charity Music is a non-profit that works to provide musical instruments to at-risk and disadvantaged youth who wish to tune into their musical talents. The Veterans Hospitals are also provided with instruments and entertainment through the organization. First Step has helped thousands of individuals for over 25 years in many ways through various programs and services to the public.
