Operation Backpack Happens July 30 - August 1

(myFOXDetroit.com Staff) - FOX 2, 96.3 WDVD and the Detroit Pistons are teaming up with Volunteers of America Michigan to ensure that low-income children return to school with all the supplies they need.

Help us stuff a bus full of new backpacks and school supplies for children in need!

Scheduled Dates & Times:
Friday, July 30: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 31: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, August 1: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Buses will be at two locations:
Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights
Plum Market in West Bloomfield

With you on board, this second year of Operation Backpack in Michigan is sure to be exciting! In 2009, you donated enough school supplies and backpacks for 1,100 children! Can you do better this year?

Be a part of the action - Sign up to do a Backpack Drive at your office, at your church or with a group of friends. You can also do it on your own! Learn how other groups have organized their backpack drives.

If you are looking to become a recipient of a backpack, applications can be made in beginning through www.operationkidequip.org.

Plus, you can drop off backpacks any time the Volunteers of America Michigan location at 21415 Civer Center Drive, Suite 210 in Southfield.
