Ford Arts, Beats & Eats happens Labor Day weekend (Friday, September 3 - Monday, September 6) in downtown Royal Oak. The event features hundreds of live performances on multiple stages, a juried fine art show and food from several local eateries.
This year, the lineup of those providing the beats includes Sponge, Kenny Wayne, WAR, Macy Gray, Alexander Zonjic, Stewart Francke and Clint Black. Click here to view a complete list of artists, including when and where they will be performing.
An art fair will take place throughout the entire weekend. Several artists are participating in a juried fine art show, which will feature a variety of mediums. They include ceramics, drawing, fabric and fiber, leather, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. Art fair hours are Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Click here for complete details.
The eats will be provided by 53 metro Detroit restaurants, including 16 from host city Royal Oak. All offerings will be priced under $5. Click here to see the complete list of participating restaurants.
Festival hours are as follows: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Admission to the event is $3. You can attend for free on Friday until 5:00 p.m.
