(WJBK) - It's a Motown mistake for "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest.
During Wednesday's Motown-themed show, Seacrest said Berry Gordy's Hitsville USA was located in the Detroit suburbs.
"And it was in this humble house in the suburbs of Detroit where history would be made," said Seacrest during a taped piece that kicked off the show.
The building, which used to be Motown Records' former headquarters and is currently part of the Motown Musuem, is located well within the Detroit city limits on West Grand Boulevard.
Social media sites like Twitter and Facebook exploded with comments following the comment.
On our FOX 2 Facebook page, viewers are sounding off. Fan Corey Dubey writes, "That's not surprising. Most media/entertainment personnel that talk about the "D" have never been to the city proper or know anything about it."
What do you think? Is this just a simple writer's mistake? Or something that should have been caught before it went to air? Let us know in the comment section below or on our Fan Page .
"Idol" continues tonight on FOX with an elimination that will bring the singing competition down to its Top 10 finalists.
