DDOT Offers Extra Bus Services for 2010 Fireworks

The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will add extra bus service to several routes for the Target Fireworks on Monday, June 21. The inbound extra service is being provided to our customers in an effort to save gas, ease congestion and provide parking relief between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The routes are:

• #10 Chene
• #16 Dexter
• #18 Fenkell
• #19 Fort
• #21 Grand River
• #25 Jefferson
• #27 Joy Road
• #31 Mack
• #34 Gratiot
• #48 Van Dyke
• #53 Woodward

As a result of some street closures during this annual event, passengers who travel on many bus routes going into downtown Detroit will experience service reroutes. Reroutes will begin at 6 p.m. on the following bus lines:

# 07 Cadillac - Harper
Inbound: Regular to right (north) on St. Aubin to left (west) on Vernor to left (west) on Gratiot to right (north) on Broadway to left (west) on John R/Clifford to left (south) on Bagley to left (east) on Grand River into Rosa Parks Transit Center (RPTC)
Outbound: Continue east on Grand River to right (south) on Broadway to left (east) on Gratiot to right (east) on Vernor to right (south) on St. Aubin to left (east) on Larned to regular.

#10 Chene
Inbound: Regular to continue north on Antietam to left (west) on Gratiot to right (north) on Broadway to left (west) on John R/Clifford to left (south) on Bagley to left (east) on Grand River into RPTC
Outbound: Continue east on Grand River to right (south) on Broadway to left (east) on Gratiot to right (south) on Antietam into current detour to regular.

#16 Dexter
Inbound: Regular to continue south on Cass to left (east) on Grand River to right (south) on Washington Blvd. to right (west) on Michigan to right (north) on Cass.
Outbound: North on Cass to right (north) on Bagley to left (west) on Clifford to regular.

Inbound: Regular to right (south) on Cass to left (east) on Grand River to layover west of Washington Blvd.
Outbound: Grand River to left (north) on Washington Blvd. to left (west) on Clifford to left (west) on Fisher Service Drive to regular.

Inbound: Regular to left (north) on Trumbull to right (east) on Lafayette to left (north) on Washington Blvd. to regular.
