COMMERCE, Mich. - As the new school year approaches, Kimberly Kassner, founder of EmpowerMind©, a Michigan-based educational company specializing in teaching accelerated, adaptive learning methods to pre-teens, teens and adults, is offering solutions for parents who are worried that about their childrens learning ability.

Kassner believes every child can reach his or her full potential by capitalizing on his or her strengths and style of learning. At her workshops, she validates this point with a series of fun, exciting, thought-provoking and confidence-boosting activities.

Kassner believes that "learning disabilities" do not exist, but rather each child is unique and learns differently. Once an individual uncovers how he or she learns, then learning becomes easy.

Genius is defined as natural gifts and talents allotted at birth. It's only in the US that we define it with IQ, Kassner explains. The key priority for children to learn is the emotional component that helps the student raise self-esteem, knowing that anything is possible because it was experienced first-hand creating the new belief -- I can do it.

Kassner says parents need to look for genius-like qualities and their child's strengths, such as:

1. Which senses do they learn from best?
2. What is their passion?
3. What do they excel at?
4. What do other people comment about their child i.e. they are great observers, tons of energy, love putting things together, into animals or small children, good listeners, problem solvers etc.

The next EmpowerMind® workshops are taking place on August 22 and August 29, 2009 at the Courtyard by Marriott on 12 Mile Road in Farmington Hills, from 9a.m. - 4 p.m. To register, please call 248-366-1960.
