Southfield, Mi - DETROIT'S BEST DANCE CREW COMPETITION

The Dance Capital, in partnership with Toni's Dance Company (TDC), Palace Sports & Entertainment, The Detroit Shock, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit, The Studio Dance Rack, MGM Grand Detroit ,and Bally Total Fitness of Southfield, presents Detroit's Best Dance Crew Competition Sunday, August 2, 2009 1pm at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

The event is a fundraiser, which will benefit two charities: The Dance Capital and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit.

The concept of the competition is modeled after the sensation television show on MTV, America's Best Dance Crew, as well as the hit movie, You Got Served.  By blending the format and style of both models, this major hip hop dance event will allow over 100 dancers to perform and gain exposure of their talent, while giving back to charity. Twenty dance crews will compete for a grand prize of $2,500, trophies, and the opportunity to perform live at a WNBADetroit Shock game.

Detroit's Best Dance Crew Competition is open to public. Audience members will vote by applause for their favorite crews and dancers in the Freestyle Battle, as well as participate in raffles and giveaways. The event will include a guest appearance by Detroit's own, ASIID from MTV's America's Best Dance Crew; as well as local celebrity judges including R&B artist, JiG; and comedian host, Horace H.B. Sanders.

Admission is $10 and a free ticket for the Detroit Shock game is included with each ticket purchase.

Detroit's Best Dance Crew Competition tickets may be purchased via Pay-By-Phone at the Palace at 248-377-8768, online at www.thedancecapital.org
