(myFOXDetroit.com Staff Reports) - In this Health Works segment, Annemarie Valdez of Child's Hope stopped by Fox 2 Studios to share some advice to make sure no child ever gets left in a hot vehicle.

Valdez and Fox 2's Deena Centofantie discussed urging parents and other caregivers to Look Before You Leave. Look Before You leave is a message provided by Child's Hope to never leave a child unattended in or around a motor vehicle.

Every year, multiple injuries and deaths occur from caretakers leaving a child in or around a motor vehicle without supervision.

Here are some tips to prevent this type of tragedy:

  1. First, make it a habit to check the back seat of the vehicle to ensure a child isn't unintentionally left behind.
  2. Place your purse or briefcase in the backseat next to the child.
  3. Make sure your vehicle is locked so children can't play in or around the vehicle.
  4. Check other vehicles to make sure children aren't left alone in a vehicle.
