SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -- The first Friday in February is national Go Red for Women Day, but it's much more than a one-day fashion choice.
The entire month of February is American Heart Month designed to help raise awareness about the number one killer of both men and women.
All this month, there are ways to get involved and help America win the battle against heart disease.
You can start by knowing your numbers, your BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.
You can also get involved with fundraising events like Jump Rope for Heart.
You can join FOX 2's Deena Centofanti and hundreds of metro Detroiters later this month at the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women luncheon. It happens Friday, February 17th at the MGM Grand Detroit.
Click here for more information on the luncheon.
