It started as an idea to decorate some walls but it's turned
into so much more for local artists and the families who view their
work.
Mike Chisholm saw the inside of the Ronald McDonald house
and knew he could make a difference. Families with critically ill
children receiving treatment at Childrens Hospital of Michigan stay
at the facility. Chisholm thought if he brightened the walls, he'd
brighten their spirits.
He started the "Deck the Walls" program which gives local
artists an opportunity to display their work. A portion of the
proceeds is donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
Chisholm is also Chairman of "Chizzy's Artist Network." The
organization is holding its first big fundraiser on October 10th.
It's from noon until 8:00pm at the Bald Mountain State Recreation
Area. It will benefit the Ronald McDonald House and Henry Ford
System Hospice.
Seventy-five world renowned artists will display their work
at the event. Over 600 people are expected to attend including
several celebrities.
