Local Sailor Gets Heroes Welcome

myFOXDetroit.com staff - A Michigan sailor got a heroes welcome Saturday night.

A group called "Hangin' with the Heroes" gathered this evening at the Ferndale elks Lodge for a special homecoming in honor of Master at Arms Ryan Krebiehl.

Friends and family were there as the American Legion presented the 21-year old with a Certificate of Honor.

The sailor says he's just proud to serve his country.

Krebiehl lives in West Branch but his family is from Ferndale. He spent the last two years in Afghanistan. He'll be home for a two week leave before deploying for three years at Guantanamo Bay.
