ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WJBK) - A crowd gathered outside an Allen Park Lowe's store on Saturday to protest the home improvement store chain's decision to pull ads from a reality TV show.
The TLC show "All American Muslim" is about Muslims in the U.S. It's filmed in Dearborn and focuses on five local families. The show's executives say its become a "lightning rod" for complaints from the conservative Christian group Florida Family Association.
A coalition of Christian, Muslim and civil rights groups called for the demonstration in Allen Park on Saturday. However, several people in attendance came to support Lowes.
