A couple of hometown heroes sat on the big brown couch with Fox 2's Jason Carr this morning.

Chief Russell Tilden of Muskegon  and FC1 Keith Simpson of Detroit are crew members aboard the USS George Washington.

They are in Metro Detroit for a short time. For many who returned with them,  this is the first time back since joining the Navy several years ago.

The sailors shared their unique stories about living on an aircraft carrier.
