(WJBK) - Forget the Whopper to-go. Burger King wants to bring it directly to your door.
USA Today reports that the nation's No 2. burger chain has quietly begun testing home delivery of its burgers, fries and other sandwiches in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
To avoid a soggy meal, Burger King officials say they've developed a thermal packaging technology that ensures hot and fresh burgers and crispy fries.
There is a $2 delivery fee and customers must live within a 10-minute drive of the store.
USA Today reports that Burger King has its eye on expanding the service beyond D.C. if it proves to be successful.
