Walnuts
Drop 1/2 cup walnuts into rapidly boiling water for 90 seconds.
Remove from heat and drain.
While still hot, toss in a metal bowl with 1/2 cup sugar until sugar is completely melted.
Deep fry at 350 degrees for 3 minutes.

Batter
Beat together 3 eggs with 1 cup of half and half.
Whisk in 1 tablespoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

Orange Walnut Glaze
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large pan.
Add 1/2 an orange (segmented) and the walnuts. Heat until walnuts and oranges are tender.
Add 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Stir until completely melted.
Add 1 shot of Grand Marnier.

Soak two 1 inch thick slices of Challah bread in the batter. Cook in pan to desired doneness top with the glaze and powdered sugar.
