Detroit Derby Girls Skate Circles Around Jason Carr

Derby girls Wham!tramck and ShamWow joined Fox 2's Jason Carr Monday morning, schooling him on the finer points of roller derby. Click on the video player to watch.

The league continues their longstanding tradition of excellence with the third annual Derby! U program to train propsective players at the Masonic Temple.

The two day program costs $50, and is open to any women interested in attending the June tryout. No prior skating experience is required, however, attendance at this session of Derby! U is required if you do want to tryout.

The Masonic Temple Drill Hall, which also serves home to Detroit Derby Girls' bouts, will host the event. It takes place 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. February 11th and 12th.

Also, The Grand Prix Madonnas are taking on the Devil's Night Dames at the Masonic Temple Drill Hall Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. (doors are at 6), with ticket prices being $15 for an adult, each adult admission includes up to 2 children 12 and under.
