BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - It happens every year, the day devoted to wooing those we love in increasingly unique ways. Valentine's Day inspires excitement and fear as men especially search for that special gift that will have sweethearts swooning.
Schakolad Birmingham Chocolate has a variety of answers for this February conundrum. Among them, long-stem chocolate-dipped strawberries, custom gift baskets and chocolate truffles in a chocolate box (more environmentally-friendly - and delicious - than cardboard!).
It's also a great time to show appreciation - in the workplace, in families, and to friends.
"Valentine's is nothing more than a designated day to show you care," says Schakolad Birmingham owner Douglas Cale, who recently relocated and opened as a pastry-and-beverage café-chocolateria on Maple Road, next to Mills Pharmacy.
Cale brought Schakolad to Southfield Monday morning, and joined the hosts of The Nine for some mid-morning treats! Click on the video player to watch full segment.
