(myFOXDetroit.com Staff Reports) - Avast! It be wise of you to talk like a pirate on Sunday. That's because Sep. 19 is the annual International Talk Like a Pirate Day .

The Irish Times reports Oregon natives John Baur and Mark Summers established the day back in 1996. The chose the date because it was Summers' ex-wife's birthday.

Here's a list of pirate words you can use throughout the day, but remember, you must use exclaimed pronunciation and throw a snarl into your voice to make it 'pirate-like'.
