It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday near Lahser and Outer Drive. The car crashed through the house and the gas meter. Several good smaritans rushed in to help. Despite their efforts, they could not save the driver.
Leslie Berry was inside the house when the crash occurred. The car came straight through a child's bedroom. Thankfully, she was not hurt. In fact, the whole family, including 7 children made it out safely. But, everything they had was destroyed in the fire. Detroit business owner John Cromer was nearby when it happened. He's rushing to help the family get back on its feet.
