DETROIT (WJBK) -- The Chevy Sonic RS is hatchback only. The lamps are unique to the RS, including a fog lamp. It features 17 inch aluminum wheels and dual exhaust.
Inside is a sporty leather package and a flat bottom steering wheel.
"We have three trim level steps. RS will be top of the line," said Dora Nowicki with Chevy Sonic Marketing.
Chevy says they designed the car for people that want to show personality, but still want fuel economy.
The Sonic line is a very important one to Chevrolet.
"The whole Sonic line to Chevrolet is the entry point into our car portfolio. From Sonic and Spark, you go into Cruze and up the later into Malibu," Nowicki explained.
That is a very important concept to any carmaker. When entry level drivers like your car and become loyal, they're going to continue to buy your brand and move up to bigger and better vehicles. It could be worth as much as a quarter of a million dollars during the life of a single driver.
