ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) - Anthony Wilson is the suspect in a string of bank robberies stretching from last October to this January.
The 25-year-old is the suspect in the robbery of a Chase Bank on Harper in St. Clair Shores last October. A federal indictment also accuses Wilson of robbing a PNC Bank also in St. Clair Shores and other banks in Grosse Pointe Woods, Warren and Roseville.
His profile photo on Facebook led the FBI to arrest Wilson.
Investigators say Wilson got about $6,300 in the string of robberies.
The FBI got a tip from someone that had seen bank surveillance photos of the robbery, who identified the suspect as Anthony Wilson. That led the FBI to look at his Facebook photo.
When FBI agents checked out Wilson's Facebook photo, he was wearing the same cloths worn by the suspect in the bank robberies.
If convicted on the felony charges, Wilson could end up in a federal prison where Facebook is not available.
