(WJBK) - In honor of Black History Month, FOX 2's Anqunette Jamison sits down with Author Danielle McGuire to discuss her book, " At the Dark End of the Street ", which is a very startling look into the Civil Rights Movement and Black Women during that era.
"At the Dark End of the Street: Black Women, Rape, and Resistance- a New History of the Civil Rights Movement from Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power" covers in-depth a part of the Civil Rights Movement that was not mentioned in most history books. It tells the horrifying tale of the numerous black women who were blindfolded and raped by white police officers after being arrested for protesting.
