Christmas came early for one local child this year. He has terminal cancer, so his parents asked for help to make his holiday wishes come true, and thousands of people around the world sent their love and support.

Decorated and delivered with love for five-year-old Noah Biorkman, cards and gifts from across the country and around the world.

At the South Lyon Post Office, they estimate Noah's received about 1,200 packages and 30,000 cards and letters since this all started.

"We've seen every state... and Malyasia, China, Great Britian," said Dave Priebe, the officer in charge at the South Lyon Post Office.

They've been flooded with Christmas cheer for Noah, a cancer patient who is not expected to live to see Christmas. So, Christmas came early for him.

We asked Priebe if he has ever seen anything like this. He replied, "Never have. Even in the middle of our Christmas, it's not this heavy for one individual."

The message went out on his CarePage and then Facebook last week that this sweet little boy wanted Christmas cards. What he got has been heartwarming and overwhelming.

His mother writes on his CarePage that Santa visited Friday night. On Sunday, the family woke to a Christmas tree and gifts in their front yard, and the cards and presents keep coming in.

"Oh, it's been beautiful. It's hard to believe that it's touched this many people around the country and the world... that they would take the time to just drop even little cards in the mail," Priebe said.

However, the sad reality, his mother writes, is that Noah is in pain and slowing down. Hopefully, all the love coming his way will keep his spirits up.
