Police tell us It all started with a home invasion in Royal Oak just before 6:00am Saturday. A woman told police she woke up to find the suspect standing over her. The victim says he repeatedly threatened to kill her if she moved and then took off in her SUV.
Police spotted the SUV on Woodward Ave. and ended up chasing the suspect onto I-696. He got off the freeway in Southfield and eventually got out of the car and ran into the field behind our building. Officers arrested him without incident and no one was hurt. They say the stolen SUV contained a stolen flat-screen TV, a laptop computer, and the purse belonging to the victim from Royal Oak. The 26 year old from Detroit is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
