Hazel Park Police are searching for two suspects accused of robbing an AutoZone store on Dequindre near Ten Mile around 10:00 p.m. on July 28.
Police say a male suspect approached a male employee at the counter, produced a small, semi-automatic handgun and ordered him to open the safe. A second, male suspect allegedly ordered a female employee to empty the register.
Police tell us after suspects gathered the contents of both the safe and the register; the victims were ordered into a bathroom at gunpoint and robbed of their personal belongings.
One of the men is also accused of striking the male employee in the head with the gun. The female worker was not injured.
One suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early twenties, light complexion, 5'7" to 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds with a thin build, short hair, thin beard with a mustache and wearing a blue Tigers baseball cap with a blue, English D, blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark work boots.
The second suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early twenties, medium complexion, 5'5" to 5'7" tall, stocky build weighing between 200 and 210 pounds, wearing a white baseball cap with a blue visor and unknown emblem on the front, a dark, do-rag under the hat, black, button down shirt, baggy blue jeans and dark, Timberland-type boots.
Police say the men fled in a vehicle that is described as possibly a Honda or Toyota, late 1990s or early 2000s, four-door, mid-size and dark in color.
