SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - A grieving mother already mourning the loss of one son is forced to bury a second.
22-year-old Michael Perkins and a girlfriend were sitting in a car on Ardmore Street near McNichols in Detroit on June 22. That's when someone carjacked and shot Perkins.
He died at the scene. His girlfriend was not hurt. Nearly two months later, the killer is still on the streets.
"For this to happen to him has been such a tragedy. It's been very hard on us because I just lost another son back in October '09 who was hit and killed in the streets of Detroit," said Jackie Horne, the victim's mother. "No one has come forward as of yet on either of these crimes, and I know someone knows something about what has happened."
