SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - Detroit Osborn's football team opened the season with heavy hearts after their team leader was gunned down and killed.

18-year-old Allantae Powell was shot and killed in late August while standing at the intersection of Pembroke and Pinehurst.

Powell was the starting running back and described as the heart and soul of Osborn's football team.

We were told college teams were showing interest in Powell. Friends said his dream was to play college ball.

So far, police have no motive and no suspects.

If you have any information about Allantae Powell's murder, you are asked to call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. You never have to give your name and you could receive a cash reward.
