Over 2 Years Later, College Student's Murder Remains Unsolved

$2,500 Reward Offered for Tip that Leads to Arrest

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - The murder of a Wayne County Community College student is still unsolved after two-and-a-half years.

Lashia Renee Ambers-Turner was killed on March 23, 2009. The 20-year-old was sitting in a car with her boyfriend on Newport Street on Detroit's east side. That's when someone opened fire. It's believed her boyfriend was the intended target.

"I lost my baby," said Nina Turner, Lashia's mother. "She was killed for something that she was not involved in. It was a senseless killing. She was just living her life."
