SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - A mother of four was gunned down in Detroit months ago. Her family is now teaming up with Crime Stoppers in hopes of catching her killer.
Tammy Hayton was murdered on October 26, 2010. The 48-year-old was found lying in the street near Hoover and Eight Mile on the city's east side. She had been shot in the chest.
Hayton's three sons and daughter are begging for someone to come forward.
"This shouldn't happen to (anybody) else. She was such a caring person. We almost lost her to cancer at one point in life. She beat it, and we were blessed with many years to come after that," said Michael Scott, the victim's son. "It was all taken away from us by an act of violence."
"Please help us. That's all we want. I would do it for you," he added.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for tips that lead to an arrest in this case. Call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Your tip can remain anonymous.
