DDOT Announces Service Changes

myfoxDetroit.com - The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) will implement scheduled service changes effective Saturday, Sept. 4, for the weekend schedule and Monday, Sept. 6, for the weekday schedule. Service changes are based on transit demands and designed to improve travel-time efficiency for customers. DDOT riders are asked to discard old schedules at that point.
 

Below is a listing of the affected routes:

Bus Stop Eliminated

Beginning September 4, the bus stop located on Grand River between Griswold and Washington Blvd. will be removed. Buses will no longer stop at this location to board passengers. The bus routes affected by this change are:

#16 - Dexter
#18 - Fenkell
#23 - Hamilton
#53 - Woodward

Passengers traveling outbound (north) on the above-listed routes will now board at a new location on Michigan Ave. east of Casso. Passengers may also continue to board outbound service on Woodward Ave. at John R.

WEEKDAY Service Adjustments

Systemwide
School spot trips will be restored and their times have been adjusted to accommodate the 8 a.m. and 3:17 p.m. bell times for Detroit Public Schools.

#14 Crosstown
The westbound trip that begins at 8:26 a.m. will be eliminated.

#16 Dexter
The 20-minute service to Southfield and to Providence Hospital has been restored between the hours of approximately 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Every other trip will travel to Southfield and Providence Hospital. A northbound trip at 5:40 has been added.

#32 McNichols
Eastbound travel time will decrease by 6 minutes between the hours of 6 p.m. and 12 a.m. The route will be extended to Telegraph between the hours of approximately 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

#45 Seven Mile
Westbound travel time will increase by 2 minutes between 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. and westbound travel time will increase by 3 minutes between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Westbound travel time will increase by 6 minutes between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Wait times between buses will increase from 50 minutes to 55 minutes between the hours of approximately 7:30 p.m. and 4 a.m.

#60 Evergreen
One northbound trip that departs from Fairlane Town Center at 6:26 a.m. has been added.

WEEKEND Service Adjustments

SATURDAY
#29 Linwood
Trips will be extended to Livernois and Florence between approximately 9:30 p.m. and 12 a.m.


#32 McNichols
Wait time between buses will decrease from 35 minutes to 32 minutes all day. Additional travel time has been added to the route: 7 minutes eastbound after 7 p.m., 3 minutes westbound between 6 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and 2 minutes westbound between 7:30 p.m. and 12 a.m.

#45 Seven Mile
Eastbound travel time will increase by 2 minutes after 7 p.m. Westbound travel time will increase by 3 minutes between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. and travel time will increase by 7 minutes after 6 p.m. Wait time between buses will increase from 20 minutes to 25 minutes between 12:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Wait time between buses will increase from 50 minutes to 55 minutes between 8:30 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

SUNDAY
#22 Greenfield
Northbound trips that departed from Greenfield and Warren at 7:25 p.m. and 7:51 p.m. will now depart from Fairlane at 7:17 p.m. and 7:51 p.m. An additional northbound trip from Fairlane has been added at 8:51 p.m.

#23 Hamilton
Wait time between buses will increase from 30 minutes to 40 minutes.

#32 McNichols
Eastbound and westbound travel time will increase by 2 minutes for all trips.

#45 Seven Mile
Eastbound travel time for trips after 8 p.m. will increase by 5 minutes. Westbound travel time for trips after 7:30 p.m. will increase by 3 minutes.
