Sculptor Sarah Pratt's medium of choice isn't clay -- it's butter.

For the past four years, Pratt has created a sculpture of a life-size cow using butter and only butter. She took over as the official butter cow sculptor for the Fair after mentoring under butter cow master, Duffy Lyons, for 15 years.

"It's a huge honor to be able to make the butter cow," Pratt said. "I grew up knowing Duffy and helping her, and I'm just really honored to be able to continue that tradition."

This year's cow took 14 days to create using 600 pounds of butter.

In July the Iowa State Fair organizers shot down the idea of creating a butter sculpture of Michael Jackson after PETA and others expressed opposition.
