Five days a week parents from all over the country send their children to schools hoping they receive a great education. However, a shocking number of students in the United States are not receiving the tools to succeed and in some cases have no chance of learning at all. Though countless reforms have been implemented to revive and keep the schools on par, the schools have failed to improve since the 1970s. So why are the schools in such dire straights. There is an answer. And its not what you think.
"Waiting for Superman" comes from the director of "An Inconvenient Truth" Davis Guggenheim. The movie is a proactive and cogent examination of the crisis of public education in the United States through several interlocking stories. Throughout this movie Guggenheim reveals the invisible forces that have held true education reform back for decades.
