Heart Gallery Exhibit: Photos of Michigan Children Awaiting Adoption

3,500 Michigan children need "forever families"

DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) - Thousands of Michigan children are waiting for a place to call home. The 2011 "Heart Gallery" exhibit, unveiled Saturday shows professional photos of the 3,500 children looking for "forever families."

Fox 2's Amy Lange and her husband, Mike, took part in today's event at Evangel Ministries in Detroit. Mike is one of the photographers, and the exhibit is close to their hearts.

Michigan's Department of Human Services says singles and couples young and old can apply to adopt a child. You must pass a licensing process. The Heart Gallery exhibit will travel across the state.
