An Oak Park family is worried sick. They thought their son would have a fun-filled summer working at Cedar Point. However, he's now missing and police are involved.

For children, it's a magical place filled with thrill rides and adventure, but for the family of 20-year-old Rolland Hamiel, Cedar Point represents an emotional roller coaster they wish would end.

Hamiel started working at the amusement park in May as a bus boy in a restaurant for the second straight year. He was last seen at work on Friday, but the park called his family when he failed to show up for work the next day.

"I think something happened out of the ordinary because Rolland is just not going to walk away," said his mother Rochelle Hamiel.

Haimel's mother and seven siblings have not heard from him in days. They say that's highly unusual and cause for alarm.

Family members drove from their home in Oak Park to Cedar Point to try and find some answers. They left their number with the hospitals, jails and even the morgue.

"I went to his room and when I went to his room, his money was still in the drawer," Rochelle Hamiel said. "It's just not like Rolland to leave his money. So, I knew something had happened at that time."

Also cause for concern is Hamiel's paycheck, which was issued Friday, has not been cashed. He doesn't have a car and was staying on park grounds in a dorm. Family members were told he recently changed dorm rooms, but they don't know why and they're unaware of any problems.

"I'm just terrified right now... because I don't know what to think," said Rochelle Hamiel.

The family plans to return to Ohio to talk to police again and hand out missing posters as they hold their breath and wait.
