CLAWSON, Mich. (WJBK) - FOX 2 spoke with the driver accused of causing Wednesday night's fiery crash. His name is Saied Haidrian-Shari.
He was born in Iran, but currently lives in Clawson and is a PhD student at Wayne State University.
Police say he was going at least 20 miles over the speed limit last night on I-75 at Nine Mile Road. They say he lost control on the curve, hitting the tanker and causing the crash.
Although he is 27 years old, he just got his driver's license back in May.
It is unclear whether Haidrian-Shari will face charges.
Haidarian-Shahri told us he doesn't think he made a mistake. Use the video player on the left to watch as FOX 2's Brad Edwards caught up with him outside his condominium in Clawson.
