BILL GALLAGHER

DETROIT - She's lived a full life, surrounding herself with fine furniture and antiques, but somebody took almost everything. This crime victim is 105 years old.

"You know it (isn't yours), why (did) you (take it)," Georgie Jordan questioned.

Jordan is upset after learning someone cleaned out the valuables from her southwest Detroit home. She now lives at the Hartford Nursing Home. Her age doesn't cool her indignation.

"Today, I'm a hundred and five. First day of April, I'll be a hundred and six," Jordan said.

Jordan bought the home in 1959 after moving here from her native Georgia. During her many years at the home, she collected fine furniture and antiques. Her house was filled with them.

"Miss Jordan had some beautiful crystal and... old antique display cases and things of that type for china. She had some immaculate pieces of furniture," said neighbor Robert Ford.

Jordan bought items at house sales, filling ten rooms in the home. One of Jordan's favorites was a lamp designed by Margaret Mitchell.

"A big lamp with a globe on it... They call it (a) 'Gone with the Wind' lamp. I had that, too," said Jordan.

Jordan hopes whoever took her things will have the decency to return them. She attributes her longevity to prayer, minding her own business and some moderation.

"I never drank or smoked. What I already ate, I can still eat it," Jordan said.

While lamenting her lost treasures, Georgie Jordan would like some comfort food she doesn't often get.

"No fried fish and no fried chicken. No fried food. Nothing good. Nothing good, they don't want me to have. But I eat good food, if I can get it and... plenty of it," said Jordan.
