MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WJBK) -- An alleged murder for hire plot is foiled in Eastpointe. A man and a woman are accused of plotting to kill a 31-year-old mother and her two children -- ages nine and twelve.
Deon Taylor and Kenisha Faison are being held at the Macomb County Jail on some hefty bonds and face some serious charges.
"It's bold, but again 1,100 inmates and they've got a lot of time back there and they talk," said Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham.
All the buzz at Macomb County Jail was about Taylor. He's the 38-year-old man who is now held on an criminal sexual conduct charge involving his former girlfriend -- an Eastpointe mother -- an her two children.
"There was some information that came out that Mr. Taylor was looking to have three people killed, two of which, one was his victim of the current case that he was on, and the other was a potential witness," Wickersham explained.
He was arraigned Wednesday along with the woman police say is his new girlfriend -- 20-year-old Kenisha Faison. It just so happens she's Taylor's ex-girlfriend's half sister. Both face three counts of solicitation of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit homicide.
"What he was trying to do was eliminate anybody that could send him to prison," Wickersham said.
"I'm lost for words. There's no reason to kill somebody over that at all. None," said neighbor Chris Sobczyk.
Neighbors of the alleged targets are shocked and told FOX 2 they had reason to believe something was wrong.
"We've been noticing they haven't been here a lot," said neighbor Sarah Robinson. "It's crazy thinking that someone wants to hurt my neighbors or people in the neighborhood."
"I hope they get what they deserve and get time in jail and realize what they're doing is wrong."
Taylor is being held on a $1 million cash bond in this case. Faison is being held on a $500,00 cash bond.
A preliminary exam is expected to be set in the next couple of weeks.
Fox 2 is looking for some good ideas on how to redefine Detroit. Have one?
