DETROIT, Mich. - Detroit police open fire, taking down pitbulls, after one of them attacks a teenage girl.

Officers fired shots into an apartment, killing four dogs.
One of those dogs viciously attacked a 14-year-old girl. She was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
It happened on Houston and Whittier, near Chalmers.
Cops say they put down the dogs to protect everyone else in the neighborhood.
The owner was ticketed for the attack.
