The Michigan Democrat sponsored the event Thursday evening in Romulus on President Barack Obama's health care plans.
Savage reports that Mike Sola of Milan interrupted Dingell repeatedly as he pushed his son, Scott, in a wheelchair to the podium. He said proposed changes wouldn't help Scott and called Dingell a fraud.
Dingell responded that the man's concerns would be addressed. Dingell told WJBK-TV afterward that the forum had been infiltrated by opponents. Some chanted "kill the bill" and other protesters gathered outside.
Earlier in the day, protesters picketed outside Democratic Congressman Gary Peters' office in Troy.
