SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - Sources say the main culprit behind a rash of bank robberies in metro Detroit is a career bank robber, who has a history of recruiting women from the streets to do his dirty work.
FOX 2 cameras were rolling seconds after FBI agents moved in on a man right in the middle of Greektown, cuffing him and hauling him off.
That man was 44-year-old Arthur Payton. The feds believe he is responsible for a string of robberies at banks in Farmington Hills, Farmington, Livonia and Novi.
His alleged partner in crime was 33-year-old Nancy Barta.
FOX 2's Taryn Asher has more on this story in her video report.
