They served our country proudly, and now some veterans are celebrating another accomplishment.

The latest graduates of Veteran's Court were honored on Tuesday, September 21. The program was designed to rehabilitate veterans who committed non-violent crimes.

Instead of serving time in jail, Veteran's Court provides counseling to soldiers so they can readjust to civilian life.

"I lost my control. That's what happened to me," said Veteran's Court graduate Jim Harper. "This helped me get my life back in control, and it's working very well."

30 to 40-percent of troops returning from Afghanistan will face serious mental health problems.

Veteran's Court helps the soldiers stay on the right path. As of now, all vets who participated in the program have not gotten in trouble with the law again.
