An escaped prisoner is back behind bars after nearly a week on the loose in Detroit.
Wayne County Sheriff's deputies recaptured Kcajun Burton Wednesday on Greenfield.
Burton had been in custody for dozens of home invasions and armed robbery, but last Thursday, the 17-year-old inmate escaped from a transport van near Lawton and Warren on the city's west side.
"He was not able to elude our web without some significant assistance. Every person who assisted him is looking at a ten year felony, and we tend to pursue that," said Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon.
The sheriff said Burton was able to escape because he was not properly restrained. The officers who are responsible are facing discipline.
