DETROIT (WJBK) - A Detroit business owner is facing a parental neglect charge, after being ticketed during a bike ride. Sean Harrington says he was riding his bike on a Detroit sidewalk, September 2nd, with his 3-year-old twin sons in a bike trailer.
When he came across pedestrians he decided to pull into the street. Police stopped Harrington for biking the wrong way on a one-way street, and gave him a $110 ticket for loitering and impeding traffic. The 43-year-old says the child neglect charges are ridiculous.
Harrington owns several businesses including Town Pump Tavern.
Fox 2's Bill Gallagher spoke to Harrington about the charges. Click the video player to watch his full report.
