Gentz Gets Court-Appointed Lawyer In Bashara Case

In an unusual move, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Kenny has appointed well-seasoned criminal defense attorney Susan Reed to represent Joe Gentz, the man who reportedly confessed to his involvement in the Jane Bashara murder.

Grosse Pointe Park Police released Gentz without a charge, after holding him for 72 hours. Sources say his story just didn't add up.

Jane Bashara's body was found strangled in her Mercedes SUV on Detroit's east side Jan. 25, one day after her husband of 26 years reported her missing.

Police are still calling Bob Bashara a person of interest in his wife's murder. Since her death, a darker side of teh Grosse Pointe businesman has been exposed, including allegations of running an S&M sex dungeon in the basement of one of his commercial buildings.
