DETROIT (WJBK) - The shirt says "Made in Detroit," and so do the tags.

But is Kid Rock's "Made in Detroit" clothing line really from the "Big D?"

Not exactly.

"It raises an eyebrow - but we'll see what people are talking about tomorrow," says Dan Davis of Funky 7 in Royal Oak.

Who knew that when Kid Rock said he loved the "D" - he actually meant "D" for Dominican Republic, where it's reported the shirts are actually made.

And even though they're printed in Clarkston, some say it's just not the same.

We reached out to Kid Rock for comment, but so far there's been no response.

Click on the video player to watch the full story - which we promised was shot and produced entirely in metro Detroit - courtesty of Fox 2's Maurielle Lue.
