The judge overseeing the murder case of an Oak Park Police officer isn't buying the defense's theory.
Defense attorney Geoffrey Fieger was once again on the receiving end of Judge Rae Lee Chabot's frustration.
18-year-old Jonathan Belton is accused of stealing Officer Mason Samborski's gun during a struggle and shooting the officer.
Fieger says the officer accidentally shot himself.
The judge had some choice words about Fieger's theory.
"Well, we haven't addressed, and you can guess what my ruling's going to be, is the defendant's theory of the case. Mr. Fieger, this is pure fiction," said Chabot.
"This case is fiction," Fieger responded.
The jury was not in the courtroom when the judge made her comments.
Fieger says there's no evidence to show that Belton shot the officer.
Closing arguments are set for Monday.
