DETROIT (AP) - A book detailing the successes and struggles of ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is expected to hit four area bookstores.
A media company run by Kilpatrick's sister, Ayanna, says in a release that "Surrendered: The Rise, Fall and Revelation of Kwame Kilpatrick" will go on sale Tuesday.
A manager at Harlem World Music & Video in Oak Park confirmed it is one of the stores that will receive the books. Another store is Southfield. The other two are in Detroit.
The book costs $26.95 and has been for sale online.
Kilpatrick was released Aug. 2 from a Michigan prison where he spent 14 months for violating probation in a 2008 criminal case.
A judge has ruled that Kilpatrick's book sale profits must first help pay $860,000 in restitution he owes Detroit.
