(WJBK) - Livonia Franklin High School senior Deangelo Peete is hospitalized, recovering from a broken neck, Wednesday. Peete is now in a "halo" after being injured during Franklin's football game against Wayne Friday night.
The team captain and star linebacker went in for a tackle, but could not get up afterwards. Doctors say the injury could have caused serious brain damage or cost Peete his life, but a piece of football equipment he wore to "look cool" likely saved him.
Fox 2's Amy Lange talks to Peete about his injury and his plans for the future. Click the video player to watch her full report.
